Eclipse Signature Viola by Isao Sato

Soft, painterly and beautifully unexpected, Signature Viola ‘Eclipse’ is a rare Japanese viola bred by renowned hybridizer Isao Sato. This specialty viola brings together an ever-changing mix of lavender, violet, creamy white, apricot, amber and warm golden tones.

Each delicate bloom appears almost hand-painted, with watercolor-like washes of color, contrasting faces and fine veining across the petals. Some flowers lean toward cool lavender and lilac, while others develop warm apricot, bronze and golden accents—creating a collection that looks different from every angle.

The smaller viola blooms are produced abundantly above compact plants, making Eclipse especially beautiful planted in groups, containers and spring displays where all of its subtle color variations can be appreciated.

Available for Spring 2027 preorder as Eclipse viola plugs for shipping or local pickup, and as 4" potted plants for local pickup.

This is a pre-order for Spring 2027. Payment is collected when your order is placed to reserve your plants. Because your plants are specially grown and reserved for you, pre-orders are considered final once placed and cannot be cancelled or refunded due to a change of mind.

• 4" Potted Plants: April 2027 — local pickup only

Availability dates are approximate and may vary slightly depending on growing conditions. If Thief of Weeds is unable to fulfill an item in your order, you will be contacted and refunded for the unavailable item.

Live Plant Shipping

We are currently accepting pre-orders for live pansy and viola plants to all U.S. states except Alaska and Hawaii.

Because live plant shipping requirements vary by state, all orders are subject to the agricultural regulations of the destination state. We will review any applicable requirements before your plants are shipped.

If we are unable to legally ship live plants to your state, your order will be canceled and fully refunded.

Shipping dates may also be adjusted due to extreme temperatures or unsafe weather conditions to help protect your plants during transit.

Eclipse viola plug orders are expected to begin shipping in March 2027.
