Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best way to take care of my flowers?
Keep your flowers in fresh water in a cool location, away from direct sunlight and heat. For events, we recommend picking up your flowers one day in advance so you have plenty of time to arrange and enjoy them.
How many buckets of flowers do I need for my event?
It depends on the size and style of your arrangements, but the following is a helpful starting point:
- 1 bucket: Approximately 7–8 mason jar arrangements or up to 20 small bud vases
- 2 buckets: A small gathering or micro wedding, including a bridal bouquet with flowers for a few additional arrangements
- 2–3 buckets: A bridal or baby shower, depending on the number and size of arrangements
- 4–6 buckets: A small backyard wedding with flowers for the ceremony and reception
If you’re unsure how many buckets you’ll need, email us and we’ll be happy to help you estimate.
How far in advance do I need to order my flowers?
We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice so your flowers can be harvested and properly conditioned.
For weddings, showers, and larger events, we recommend ordering at least 2–4 weeks in advance to reserve your preferred date.
What flowers will be in my bucket from Thief of Weeds?
Every bucket is created from what is freshest and most beautiful in the garden that week, so exact varieties cannot be guaranteed.
Here’s an idea of what may be blooming throughout the season:
- April & May: Tulips, daffodils, Icelandic poppies, anemones, and other spring flowers
- May & June: Peonies, ranunculus, roses, snapdragons, sweet peas, and more
- July & August: Dahlias, zinnias, echinacea, cosmos, and other summer favorites
- September & October: Dahlias, roses, mums, and other late-season flowers
Your bucket will always include a thoughtful mix of focal flowers, supporting blooms, airy textures, fillers, and foliage.
Can I choose the colors in my Bucket of Flowers?
Absolutely. Because we work with flowers grown seasonally on the farm, specific colors or varieties cannot be guaranteed, but we will do our best to create a beautiful mix within your requested palette.
